About CESRB Creative

CESRB Creative LLC is the company I use for my technology work, music, and the projects that grow out of both.

CESRB is made from the initials of my family. Everything I create under the name is part of something I am building for them—whether that becomes useful technology, strange music, a real company, or something that lasts beyond me.

Technology

My technical experience started with an old OptiPlex and a few drives dangling out of it.

I wanted a home storage server for family photos and a collection of games. That led me into self-hosting and a much larger world of open-source software.

Installing applications became managing entire systems. Making things work became asking how a larger organization would handle authentication, networking, backups, automation, monitoring, testing, and recovery.

I kept making my systems more complicated than they needed to be and then had to become good enough to manage them.

Eventually, complicated systems became familiar.

That curiosity expanded into self-hosted applications, servers, networking, storage, home automation, websites, internal tools, and custom applications. It also became experience I can use to help other people solve real technical problems.

Sometimes that means building something new. Other times it means finding the right open-source application, connecting existing services, automating repetitive work, repairing an unreliable system, or figuring out what is actually wrong.

You do not need to know the technical name for the problem. “This is broken,” “this takes forever,” or “I wish this could do that” is enough to begin.

CESRB Technology is where I offer that experience to people who need a website, a better system, or help making their technology work.

Music

CESRB is also my independent artist project.

The music has its own home at CESRB.com, where you can find releases, videos, and everything connected directly to the artist project.

Bunny Teeth Records handles the label side. It manages the catalog, metadata, files, release infrastructure, and other systems surrounding the music.

The label is currently far too overbuilt for an operation with one artist, but that is probably the most honest description of it.

Bunny Teeth Records is also where my artist-focused website work lives. It provides websites made specifically for musicians and bands, with room to support additional artists and future label work.

The common thread

The technology, music, and label are separate parts of CESRB Creative. They sometimes overlap, but none of them exists to justify the others.

What connects them is how I approach the work: I become obsessed with a problem, learn how all the pieces fit together, and keep pushing until I can create something better from what I learned.

Sometimes the result is an application. Sometimes it is an overbuilt system, a record label, or a weird song.

Whatever form it takes, it carries my family’s initials and contributes to something I hope will last.

That is what CESRB means to me.
